About us

Andy Nnewihe is the owner of ICON Tennis & Pickleball and a card-carrying tennis nerd and enthusiast. Andy has always had a drive for excellence, getting a BS in Electrical Engineering from MIT, as well as a Masters in Biomechanics and a PhD in Bioengineering, both from Stanford. He has built medical imaging devices that have been licensed by GE, Philips and Siemens, built fitness apps for Android and Apple devices, and led projects in top Fortune 500 companies in pharmaceutical and consumer devices. 

Constant in all this has been Andy’s passion for tennis - whether playing in his high school tennis team, in intramurals during grad school or currently, being active in local USTA and CMITA leagues. Andy left the corporate world in October 2023 and started ICON Tennis & Pickleball to follow his tennis passion. 

Andy’s goal is to serve the Greater Boston areas of Walpole and neighboring cities, not just by providing tennis and pickleball equipment, but by bringing his engineering mindset and background in biomechanics to the art of equipment selection. He truly believes, it isn’t one size fits all and everyone deserves to get the right gear that complements their game and their strengths. Using stroke analytics, and optimizing the interplay of rackets, strings and customization, Andy aims to provide this for his customers. Like he always says: your gear, your way!

For TENNIS, we will stock the latest racquets from Wilson, Head, Babolat and Yonex, balls, bags, strings, and more.

For PICKLEBALL, we will have paddles from Selkirk, Joola and Diadem as well as balls and other accessories.

In terms of SERVICES, we provide a 24-hr turnaround for racquet restringing, racquet and paddle customization and regripping. Coach Andy will also run semi-private and private outdoor tennis lessons for all levels in the warmer months. Racquet consultation services will be available as well.
